Hello, and welcome to the Barn Owl Project website. This is a new website set up by Bob Morley, owner of The Owl Experience, an educational company. The Barn Owl Project is based in Dale Abbey, Derbyshire and is the result of local people wanting to see the Barn Owl, and other native owl species, back in their community. The Barn Owl Project is not open to the public but if you would like to help please see the 'How You Can Help' link on the left. If you are interested in an Encounter with owls, then please click the link at the bottom of the page. The majority of people know what the Barn Owl is and what they look like and they are often taken for granted that they live in this country. What most people don't realize is that the Barn Owl is becoming increasingly rare and numbers are falling each year. The Barn Owl Project aims to work with local land owners to encourage the natural habitat of the Short Tailed Field Vole, the Barn Owls favorite food, and to erect nest boxes for the owls.
